Systems Alignment

Static and Dynamic Alignments and RCWS

With today’s complex combat environment, it’s more important than ever for weapons systems to be accurately aligned. It’s important that alignment can be done quickly and that errors that are introduced during construction or throughout the platform’s service life are eliminated. This affects the entire alignment arrangement of the ship, so it’s essential to get it right.

The alignment methods developed by Schill and its equipment, the Aligner 308 and Aligner 224/221/231, have been sold to more than 30 countries. They’ve introduced a series of new concepts and set a new standard for aligning weapon systems, sensors and foundations. Schill’s methods and systems not only let you align everything perfectly, but they also let you check that everything’s aligned, including checking how equipment and sensor systems and foundations move.

We perform all the alignments while the ship is afloat, which not only saves money and time, but also makes things more flexible and easier to plan. We also avoid hull deformation in dry dock. The gyroscope, which is a key part of the weapon system, can be tested for stability and aligned to the weapon system via its electrical output, which helps to make the alignment even more reliable and accurate.
